Upgrading Items
The Upgrade System gives players the ability to enhance their weapons and equipment. The upgradable items are categorized into four different classes, ranging from 1 to 4, which play a crucial role in determining the upgrade options available.

To upgrade an item, players must first find a whetstone and use it on an item that can be upgraded.
Weapon and equipment upgrades are only available for Harad's apprentices.
Each upgrade increases the weapon's attack by 1. It also increases each equipment's armor by 1 and all protection resists by 4% for armor and legs or 8% for helmet and boots. Each upgrade on wands increases basic attacks by 5% and magic spells by 2%. The classification of weapons is based on its attack value, however equipment classification is based on its rarity. Each item starts at Tier 0, and the maximum tier it can reach depends on its class, which is indicated in the accompanying table below.
Classification | Tier Limit (One-handed, Two-handed and Wands) |
Tier Limit (Bow and Crossbow) |
Tier Limit (Armor and Legs) |
Tier Limit (Helmets and Boots) |
1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
2 | 3 | 2 | 3 | 2 |
3 | 5 | 3 | 5 | 3 |
4 | 10 | - | 10 | 5 |
The chance of successfully upgrading an item is dependent on the item tier and the player's Forging skill level. Higher tier upgrades have a lower chance of success, but a player with higher Forging skill increases their chances of success.
In the case of a failed upgrade, the player incurs no loss of item or degradation.
The cost of upgrading an item and required level is dependent on its tier and classification, and is presented in tables below.

Keep in mind that ranged weapons have a different damage conversion than melee weapons, so their upgrade is completely different.
